Account Setup
If you have an existing Baker & Taylor wholesale account, GPS creates a separate bill to account for GPS, identified with a unique GPS prefix beginning with a “W” (for example: W123456). Your account name will be identified on your separate GPS bill to account as “Customer Name – GPS.”
Your GPS account profile preferences (freight forwarder, preferred carrier, etc.) will be the same as with your wholesale account unless a change is requested. Change requests can be submitted through your GPS sales representative.
If you are new to Baker & Taylor, apply for an account online. Please complete our account opening form here as “Retail,” “Retail NON US.”
Ordering Options
Purchase orders can be processed via your existing ordering method. The following methods are available:
- TS360 – upload a system generated order (preferably Excel format) or create an order on the site while logged into your GPS account.
- EDI – electronic ordering direct to Baker & Taylor customer service. New EDI set up requests can be submitted here.
- Customer service – submit an order via email to retailcustomerservice@baker-taylor.com.

Payment Information
Purchase orders can be processed via your existing ordering method. The following methods are available:

GPS Account Profile
GPS will copy your wholesale account settings and preferences for backorders, shipping consolidation, etc. unless a change is requested. Change requests can be submitted through your GPS sales representative, who can also confirm your current settings.
Packaging and Shipping
- GPS orders will not combine with your wholesale orders and can be consolidated if you are shipping via freight forwarder.
- GPS orders will consolidate with your wholesale orders if you are shipping via freight forwarder.
- GPS orders will be picked/packed separately in a Baker & Taylor box with a GPS label.
Returns
- GPS will accept affidavit returns based on your returns agreement (see your GPS sales representative).
- Affidavit requests must be submitted to your GPS territory manager for approval. Once the credit has been approved, Baker & Taylor will require a C.O.D. before processing the credit. Please send the C.O.D. to customer service or your GPS sales manager with the approved claim, for processing.
- Affidavit requests should include the following:
- Title
- ISBN
- Quantity
- Purchase Order Number
- Invoice Number
